The Support Group meetings will be moving from Cross Street Chapel to the Methodist Central Hall (Oldham Street, Manchester, M1 1JQ) from February. For a map and directions to the venue click here.
Meetings will still take place on the first Monday of each month (except our May meeting) from 1.30 – 3.30 p.m.
Support Group meetings are open to all mesothelioma patients and their carers. Details of our future meetings can be found here: Living Well A5 Flyer 2017.
Oldham Street is opposite Piccadilly Gardens in the centre of Manchester. The Methodist Central Hall is about 100 yards up on the right (opposite Afflecks Palace).
The speaker at our meeting on 6th February will be Professor Sir Anthony Newman-Taylor of Imperial College. Sir Anthony is overseeing the work of the National Mesothelioma Centre, the new research institution set up last year with £5 million of Government funding. He will talk about the work of the new centre and how they will be contributing to the search for better treatment and a cure for mesothelioma.
And as usual, there will be an opportunity to socialise after the talk. The new venue looks very smart and our room was being given a fresh lick of paint when Lorraine and I visited so hope to see you there.
