Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group (GMAVSG)
is a registered charity- 1113201

We offer free and independent advice on benefits and compensation to people with asbestos-related diseases and their families.

We can provide face-to-face advice to people in Greater Manchester, and some of the neighbouring parts of Derbyshire, Cheshire, and Lancashire. We can provide telephone advice to people who live further afield.

As well as the advice we offer on benefits and compensation, we also campaign for on local, national and international issues that affect asbestos victims and their families.

We want to see better funding for medical research and treatment, fairer benefits and compensation, the removal of asbestos from the places where we work and live, and an international ban on asbestos.

When campaigning on national and international issues, we work with like-minded asbestos support groups in other parts of the country, under the umbrella of the Asbestos Victims Support Groups Forum UK. We also actively fundraise along side other organisations and our supporters.

We have three paid staff members- Rob, Graham & Joel. The work of the charity is overseen by an elected board of trustees, who are all unpaid volunteers.

Information on how we manage our clients’ data can be found in this document: GMAVSG Privacy Notice.
